A new beginning….again.

Well, once again I speak of a new beginning.  Really?  This time, I do believe it to be so.  For instance, today I ordered a juicer!  Yes, the meat and potatoes man has broken down and gone green, literally.  Why, you might ask?  Thursday I go into the hospital for outpatient surgery for "Barretts esophagus.  For those with the perplexed look on their face, this is caused by acid reflux.  Basically, the stomach contents are pushed back up into the esophagus (the tube your food goes down from your mouth to your stomach).  The result of this repeat exposure to the acidic conditions of the stomach content is a transformation of the cells to a pre-cancerous condition.  In my case, this is caused by eating foods that contain chemicals such as formaldehyde and monosodium glutamate (msg).  It is getting more difficult to avoid all these chemicals in most all processed foods.  So I have decided to drastically alter my eating habits.  I will be making my own veggie juices, including wheatgrass.  Never thought I'd be saying that!  For those curious, I purchased an "Omega 8004 Nutrition Center Juicer".  When I receive it, I'll give a review here for any interested.  In addition, I have ordered an "Organic Wheatgrass Growing Kit".  Boy, if my redneck friends could see me now!  Anyway, I will get healthier, and I will stop this acid reflux.  In the process I hope to be able to stop taking all the prescription meds that are of preventative nature.  Yeah, me!

I have not stopped there, either.  In addition to the above, I am hoping to take on a volunteer position as caretaker at a Tibetan Buddhist retreat center.  I am hoping this will allow me access to the retreats and seminars, etc. that are provided there.  This is in continuing with my path of service.  If this happens, I will be probably be spending every other week in residence at the facility.  I am planning on spending lonely evenings practicing my guitar and reading as well as in meditation.

One other bit of good news.  I gave my son a studio strobe for his photography a while back.  This week I figured out how to use this with my old view camera.  How cool is that?!  I'd like to begin photographing models again, but with the new twist of using a camera that is older then I am.  Cool!  Any volunteers?  I can't pay money, but I can provide you with some archival processed prints for your portfolio.  I find the prospect of re-immersing myself in my photography to be extremely exciting!

I am so blessed to have a life of such abundance!
